The Drive-By Truckers are purveyors of a new kind of southern rock storytelling - dense, dark, majestic and intelligent. Featuring three absolute ace songwriters, their albums are stronger for the natural competition. One of the hardest working live bands in the business today, DBT's performances are epic and cathartic. This 7th album is their most concise to date. While in keeping with their now recognizable sound, they have made some significant changes: the songs were all freshly written with this record in mind and without a specific theme. The result is very thought out and deliberate with a decided air of sophistication (Truckers style!).

Drive-By Truckers Go-Go Boots CD
Far more than on any of the Drive-By Truckers' previous albums, Go-Go Boots rises like smoke from the old Muscle Shoals country-and-soul sound. Having recorded with Bettye LaVette and Booker T. Jones, and having spent a lifetime listening to classic soul albums by Bobby Womack, Tony Joe White, and especially Eddie Hinton, it was inevitable that the Truckers eventually produce this album.

Patterson Hood - Heat Lightning Rumbles In The Distance CD
Patterson Hood’s third solo record, Heat Lightning Rumbles In The Distance, will be released on September 11th on ATO Records. Hood co-produced the album with long time Drive-By Truckers’ collaborator David Barbe , who also plays bass on the album. All of his DBT band mates make appearances on the record ( Mike Cooley, Jay Gonzalez, Brad Morgan and John Neff ) as does Scott Danbom and Will Johnson from Centro-matic and Kelly Hogan . Hood’s father, famed Muscle Shoals bassist, David Hood also plays on the record. Hood originally started out writing a book that was a half-assed fictionalization of a very turbulent period of his life when he was 27. The book eventually stopped coming but the songs continued to pour out. Most of this album comes from a short period of time between February and June of 2011. Hood says, “The songs begin in the period that the book was set in, but don't end there, as they really just were the impetus for writing about the life I am living now and contrasting it with the troubled times of two decades ago. It is in some ways the most personal album I've ever made. There has always been a lot of me in all of the albums we've done, but usually semi-disguised as character sketches and stories, but the first person narrative in this one is pretty firmly rooted in autobiography, albeit in two dramatically differing time periods.”

DBT - The Fine Print: A Collection of Oddities and Rarities
When the Drive-By Truckers put out a rarities album, they don’t half-ass it... rather than releasing the unfinished songs as is, the way most bands would’ve done, the Truckers actually went ahead and finished those tracks. -Pitchfork.com Drive-By Truckers (DBT) have been making music together for 13 years resulting in 7 critically acclaimed studio albums which could not contain all of the songs written by the band. DBT recently dug into the New West Records vaults and put finishing touches on a selection of songs that were never quite completed. The result of the collaboration is The Fine Print (A Collection Of Oddities and Rarities 2003-2008), a 12-track album of previously unreleased and rare songs. The Fine Print features songs written by band members past and present, including Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley and Jason Isbell. Seven of the twelve songs come from The Dirty South era, a highly creative time for DBT. The record also contains four covers including Rebels by Tom Petty, which the band recorded originally for the TV show King Of The Hill and Like A Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan which provided Shonna Tucker with her first ever lead vocal performance on a DBT recording. Track Listing: 1. George Jones Talkin’ Cell Phone Blues 2. Rebels 3. Uncle Frank (alternate version) 4. TVA 5. Goode’s Field Road (alternate version) 6. The Great Car Dealer War 7. Mama Bake A Pie (Daddy Kill A Chicken) 8. When The Well Runs Dry 9. Mrs. Claus’ Kimono 10. Play It All Night Long 11. Little Pony And The Great Big Horse 12. Like A Rolling Stone
