I didn't know what to expect when I first played this album. Man, was I surprised. It sounds nothing like a DBT record, which, I reckon is somewhat to be expected, but it is a marvel of sounds and orchestrations that I never expected. All of the songs work for me, but my favorite is "A Werewolf and a Girl," a beautifully haunting song remembering an old romance featuring lovely vocals by Lydia Loveless. Other favorites are "The Forks of Cypress," "The Van Pelt Parties" and "Airplane Screams." But my favorites might be totallt different the next time that I listen to the record. Thanks Patterson for this fine work!
